It is gratifying to have been able to write a military story for each of the following Squamish Veterans. The initial intent was to have their story, along with all
other BC/YUKON veterans, published in the yearly BC/YUKON Command Military Service Recognition Book. Now, it seems fitting to have them all posted herein within the community they
lived, and at their RCL Diamond Head Branch 277. There are many Squamish Veteran Stories still untold. I would be most happy to interview them; their wife/spouse, and/or their family.
The experience of war bears many emotional scars. The emotional stress is not something that is easily dealt with in a positive manner. So I understand reluctance in telling of an
experience that one would sooner forget. Our Veteran stories need to be told, if not for themselves; then for the Squamish Community. All Canadians are encouraged to Thank a Veteran
for Your Freedom. Sincerely, Ken Ward Squamish Veteran Research Chairman Past President, Past VP, Service Officer, Recording Secretary RCL Diamond Head Branch 277
